How to whiten your skin naturally

Let me share with you a very effective method to whiten your skin naturally, which has worked for myself, and many of my friends. As long as you follow this treatment plan consistently for 2–3 months, during this time frame you can start to see a gradual lightening skin tone. Follow these simple steps on alternate days.
Step 1. After washing your face in the morning, dab lemon juice solution mixed with either honey or water with a cotton bud. Let it stay on your face while you have your breakfast. You can pre-make the solution every 4 days and store it in your fridge in an airtight container. Slice abit of a lemon and squeeze the juice out. Add more honey and water if you have sensitive skin. Wash the lemon juice solution off your face after your meal, and apply moisturizer, then sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum cream-based sunscreen for more effective protection against harmful UVB and UVA rays, which darken your skin. Make sure you are using a sufficient amount of sunscreen, if not you are defeating the purpose of it.
Extra tip: If you have extra time daily, rub a slice of potato on your face. The slice of potato is best cold, not only does it help to lighten your skin if done daily, it helps prevent blemishes, minimize your pores and reduce puffiness.
Step 2. Have a balanced diet. Cut down on processed, sugary or oily foods. In your meals ( breakfast, lunch, and dinner). For drinks, change from drinking coffee to hot tea in the morning. Drinking tea lowers the peroxides which cause skin roughness. Tea contains polyphenol which is a very strong antioxidant. Hot tea will increase blood circulation and also give your face a rosy glow. Have fruits every day, especially fruits high in vitamin C content. Examples are kiwi, orange, strawberries, tomatoes. Consume more red and yellow vegetables like carrots, mangoes, pumpkins, etc. They are rich in phytochemicals and carotene, perking up the skin’s resistance power. Consume soy bean-based food daily. I drink a cup of soya milk in the afternoon everyday, and have tofu in at least one of my meals daily.
Step 3. In the evening, every two daysexfoliate using a gentle scrub. Use a skin whitening face mask afterwards. You can try making a rice mask (strong whitening properties and brightens skin) grinding uncooked rice into a fine powder, then mixing it with a bit of milk, honey or yoghurt for a thick paste. Some other combinations are oatmeal and honey, or almond powder and honey. Add a bit of your lemon juice solution to the masks for better lightening effect.
Remember, consistency is key. Try taking a picture of your face every week to see if there is any changes in your skin tone, and stick to the treatment for at least 2–3 months to see gradual lightening.
